Emma is a new western riding instructor in the Winchester area. She has spent her childhood on the backs of horses, learning to ride at the age of 2. Her first horse, Milky Way, paved the way for her interest in the equestrian field. As a child, Emma enjoyed showing in local 4H shows and going on trail rides. She began riding english, but has found her niche in western riding, specifically barrel racing.
One Christmas, Emma was gifted her beloved mare Annie, who introduced her to barrel racing. Eventually, Emma's current and main barrel horse, Cat, came along and has posed challenges for her to overcome. It was on Cat that Emma learned to stay positive through every "bad" run and to keep trying. Emma and Cat have figured each other out and enjoy competing in local barrel races and occasionally traveling to further venues.
As Annie grew older and showed signs of age, Emma was left with Cat. Though her family had other horses, Emma had to train one of those in the field to be her next barrel horse. She chose one of her mares, Neveah, to step up to the plate. Emma spent some time starting Neveah on the barrel racing pattern and found her interest in training. Since then, Emma started two fillies who show promising success.
Emma enjoys teaching and spreading the love for horses through her lessons. She works with beginner and intermediate riders, offering approaches that focus on natural horsemanship and safety. Her teaching method allows riders to move forward as they feel comfortable and allow for a fun, supportive environment.
